Before Dawn: There's Silver Threads

There's silver threads across the sky,
New morning wonders, there up high.
We look for daybreak, ponder why,
Some people live, while others die.

Soft, silver threads soon turn to gold
And glimmer over waters cold.
The swooping gulls, fresh fish, soon hold,
Their young to feed, a quest so bold.

It isn't long till morning sun
Begins its path, a daily run,
As if its trek through life begun;
Somehow a race that's always won.

As dawn breaks, watch for silver threads turning to gold.
