Roses: A Rose Says I Love You

A sound sleep,
A sudden awakening,
As if from a dream;
One spoken word,
"Rose."
A plaintiff cry
Resounding,
As if from a far distant horizon;
A lonely man's voice,
Crying out to his love;
Echoing,
Re-echoing his pain,
The word,
Carried on the wings of the spirit;
The winds of his thought
Still blowing
Across the vast waters
Of time's tempest and torment;
A fragile, fleeting dream
Soon dissipating
With the dawn;
A single word,
The picture of a rose,
Forever imprinted
Upon a day's page of life;
Soon etched into memory
And locked into eternity's realm
Love remembered;
Not to be forgotten.
A rose says,
"I love you,
From the bottom of my heart;"
Do not cry
For the eternal rose;
It still lives.

Have you envisioned the eternal rose?
