Shadows: Empty Shadows

Empty shadows fill the air;
While they linger, who is there
Defining shadow's emptiness?
One must be real and yes, confess
In words of love, not terms of hate,
There's something shadows can relate.
Do shadows really bless or curse,
Control the strings of each man's purse?
The shadows that we see as real
Oft influence the way we feel.
All disappear in noon day light
Or wither, when the moon is bright.
Evasive shadows, deep in dreams,
Elusive shadows, show it seems,
The one that's captured, disappears;
Its memories arouse new fears.
Old shadows penetrate one's life,
Awaken tempest, cause new strife.
Shadows will come; shadows will go,
With ebbing tide, a certain glow.
Creating shadows, in life's play,
Brings life that's fresh and new, each day.
Empty shadows soon relate
The other side of morning's fate.
Those shadows, one can fill with love
And blessings true, from up above.

How are we to understand life’s empty shadows?
